About forty years ago, between 1958 and 1968 my father Raymond Portelance owned this fishing center with his cousin Edouard N. D'Amour in the name of  "Centre de Pêche Portelance & D'Amour".  At this period, only the access road and sale of minnows were available on the winter season.

In the beginning of the third millennium the family business reopened on January 4th of 1998 in the name of  "Centre de Pêche La Madeleine".  Now we offer still in winter only, a lot of diversified services to satisfy to the different needs of our customers.  Some are asking where comes the name of "La Madeleine" given to the Center.   Before the fusion between the parish and the village, the territory where is located the Fishing Center was named "Ste-Madeleine de Rigaud".  It's in memory to this name, so we designated the Center.  In the next pages you will discover all details on our services.

My wife, Carole Marchand who was leading the restaurant until 2004, now receives you occasionally.  My sons, Benoit or Eric Portelance receive you at the gate.  Ronald, helps you starting the day, and I, look for that everything is right while you stay with us.
